One of the first cities nationally to ensure that all employees regardless of nature or level of position are paid a living wage, novice CPS teachers have a starting salary of over $50,000. Experienced teachers may earn over $95,000 annually. Every teacher is reimbursed for up to $450 annually for incidental out of pocket expenses for classroom instructional materials and supplies, and is eligible for $1500 annually for tuition reimbursement. Opportunities for increased compensation are also available through continuing professional development, education, and stipend opportunities.
