CPS Extracurricular/ Clubs Bus

Students who are eligible to ride the bus can take an Extracurricular/Clubs Bus (aka “the late bus”)  if they stay after school for clubs or activities after the regular school dismissal time.

This service is arranged by the school Principal. All Upper Schools offer a late bus, and many elementary schools offer the service as well. Please check with the school to learn more.

Important Details

  • The late bus is only available when after school activities are in session (October-May, with some breaks in service between quarters).
  • Students must be in Grades 3-8 to ride this bus
  • This bus does not serve all regular neighborhood bus stops.
  • This bus follows a standard route that loops around the city, including stops at all CPS school buildings. Students are generally assigned a stop at the school closest to their home address, with a few exceptions for neighborhoods not in easy walking distance.
  • The bus will stop at the first address that is 1.5 miles or more from the school
