Cambridgeport School (Preschool - Grade 5)

Cambridgeport Collage

Mission Statement
We are a collaborative and reflective school that builds relationships. We create a safe and joyful learning environment that empowers and guides students’ understanding of themselves, their community, and the world to develop independence and critical thinking skills.

Cambridgeport School’s teachers and families work as a community to create a collaborative and reflective environment of exploration and inquiry that builds relationships and empowers students.

Cambridgeport has an Empower Framework and utilizes Wayfinder and Responsive Classroom strategies, a research-based approach to teaching that focuses on the strong link between academic success and social-emotional and behavioral skills to support incident prevention. We believe that a highquality education for every child is based on the foundation of a safe and joyful learning community.

Philosophy
All teachers share a constructivist approach to learning - the belief that children must engage with their world in order to make sense of it and build their knowledge. It is through hands-0n, real-world inquiry that children learn. Teachers create learning environments that help develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills to succeed in life.

We believe in high standards for academic achievement, in the context of a community that works together. As a community of learners, each student is expected to take responsibility for their own learning, while collaborating, supporting, and respecting others.
