Office of Strategy

The Office of Strategy encompasses system-wide efforts across schools to attain the objectives of the multi-year CPS District Plan. Through strategic planning, these objectives will yield improved outcomes and the realization of our equity-driven vision of Rigorous, Joyful, and Culturally Responsive Learning + Personalized Support, leading to Postsecondary Success and Engaged Community Members.

Senior leadership and oversight is provided by the Chief Strategy Officer, who directs ongoing district planning and continuous improvement work, while overseeing system-wide improvement for the areas of community relations, family engagement, out-of-school time partnerships, and institutional and business partnerships.

Chief Strategy Officer Lyndsay M. Pinkus, Ed.L.D. joined the senior leadership of CPS in July 2019. Dr. Pinkus brings deep experience from educational organizations at the national, state and local levels including serving as Chief of Staff to the Deputy Superintendent of the Hawaii Department of Education, where she oversaw the comprehensive implementation and progress monitoring of priority strategies across Hawaii public schools (the nation’s 9th largest district).

Prior to her work in Hawaii, she served as a Director at a number of Washington D.C.-based national policy organizations including Achieve, the Data Quality Campaign and the Alliance for Excellent Education. She also served as a Strategy Consultant for Harvard’s Education Redesign Lab, designing leadership training and measurement strategies for its collective impact efforts.

Dr. Pinkus recently completed her doctorate in education leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). She is no stranger to CPS, having completed her doctoral residency in CPS, during which she worked with family, faculty, CPS leaders and community partners on a variety of efforts.
