The Office of Safety and Security is dedicated to ensuring a safe, secure, disruptive-free learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. The department implements safety and security policies, access control procedures, accident prevention, risk management, fire safety, emergency management, asset protection, parking control, and pedestrian/bus safety programs. The department is also responsible for emergency preparedness training and serves as liaison to police, fire, courts and the Massachusetts Department of Children & Families.
The office is composed of a staff of 12, with representatives speaking Haitian Creole, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian. Parents, students, and members of the community are encouraged to call and report any situations or disputes involving Cambridge Public Schools students. The office is open from 7AM - 5PM.
Juvenile Court Project
The Juvenile Court Project has established a direct link to the Probation Department of the Court to advocate for students in court-related situations. Our court liaison provides a variety of support services to students who have a court-related issue. Contact the Security Office for more information.
