School Committee Overview
The Cambridge School Committee is a seven member board. Six members are elected at large. The Mayor, who is elected from and by the nine elected City Council Members, serves as Chair of the School Committee. The School Committee determines overall School Department policy and budget.

The Cambridge School Committee conducts most of its business at public meetings.
Meeting Schedule
Meetings are held the first and third Tuesday evening of each month from September through June, at 6PM. The current meeting schedule, including agenda, meeting materials, public comment sign-up and School Committee actions (also known as final orders) can be found on the School Committee meeting portal.
Watch School Committee Meetings
- In-Person: All meetings are held in the Dr. Henrietta Attles Meeting Room at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, 459 Broadway, Cambridge. Regular meetings are open to the public. Enter through the “School Committee” door on Broadway.
- Watch on Cambridge Educational Access TV (CEATV) Channel 6/26: Meetings are broadcast live and re-broadcasts on Tues, Thurs. and Sat. at 6PM; and Wed, Fri. and Sun. at 10AM.
