Children With Disabilities

Cambridge is committed to welcoming and including students with disabilities into our learning communities. To ensure that they receive appropriate accommodations and services, students who enter the public schools with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 plan should provide copies of those documents when they register their child at the Student Registration Center.

The Office of Student Services (OSS) will promptly review your child’s IEP or 504 to ensure that the appropriate school or program assignment will be made. Once the Student Registration Center receives their recommendations, we will make your child’s school assignment.

This extra review is a top priority and will not delay your child’s school assignment. The date of your original application will determine your child’s position on any waiting lists.

You should feel free to contact the Office of Student Services (OSS) if you have any questions about the resources and programs available within the district, or to discuss any accommodations your child needs. Some details are also described on the OSS website.
