Update on COVID-19 Dashboard

Update on COVID-19 Dashboard
Posted on 12/21/2020

Dear CPS Community,

As we begin the final school week of this very challenging year, I want to share this holiday video message and cautious optimism about the months ahead.

For our current in-person learners, who have been temporarily at home since December 10, we hope we can return to school buildings on January 4. Under our current plan, this requires 7 consecutive days with less than 25 daily new cases (per 100,000 individuals). See the CPS COVID-19 Dashboard for more details and the data here. We will keep you informed during the break, and will let you know by Wednesday December 30, if we can return in-person on January 4.

We also continue to plan for the safe expansion of in-person learning in February. We continue to gather valuable information from students, families, and staff to ensure we are moving forward in a safe and thoughtful way. As part of this planning, the School Committee will host a special meeting tomorrow (Tuesday, December 22) to discuss two updates to our COVID-19 guidelines around social distancing and quarantine rules. Key information surrounding this planning can be found here.
