Booster Requirement Lifted for Before and After School Activities

Booster Requirement Lifted for Before and After School Activities
Posted on 09/09/2022

Dear CPS Community:

Over the last few weeks, we, in collaboration with the Cambridge Public Health Department, have reevaluated our expanded requirement that students be boosted to participate in CPS-sponsored before and after school activities.

Given the ongoing update of boosters and the complexity of eligibility, we anticipate enforcing this expanded requirement will be challenging and may prevent fully vaccinated students from participating in meaningful and rewarding activities. Therefore, CPS will no longer require students to have a booster to participate in CPS-sponsored before and after school activities.

We will continue to require that students be fully vaccinated to participate in CPS-sponsored before and after school activities. Fully vaccinated means that you have received the initial doses of the vaccine (2 doses for Moderna/Pfizer or 1 dose for J&J) and two weeks have passed.

Along with our partners in the health department, we continue to strongly recommend that all eligible individuals stay up-to-date with their vaccination and boosters for the best protection against COVID. The Health Department will be holding the following clinics in October and November (registration links to follow):

King Open School located at 850 Cambridge Street

  • Saturday, October 15 | 9AM - 5PM
  • Tuesday, November 15 | 4 - 7PM

Sincerely,

The CPS Team
