Introducing Our Director of Family and Community Engagement

Dear CPS Community:

Raymond PorchFollowing a comprehensive search, I am delighted to announce that we have hired a new Director of Family and Community Engagement. Mr. Raymond Porch will be joining Cambridge Public Schools effective Tuesday, October 11.

As the Director of Family and Community Engagement, Mr. Raymond Porch will implement and oversee the district’s family and community engagement strategy. Some of the initiatives he will support are providing direct family outreach programming, increasing the alignment and support for school and district-based family liaisons, coordinating community partnerships, and promoting parent/caregiver leadership and advocacy.

Mr. Porch has over 20 years experience in secondary and postsecondary education in public, charter, private, and higher education organizations and settings. He is currently the Chief of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Burlington Public Schools in Massachusetts. He has previously served in various school-based administrative roles, including serving as a Co-Principal, Dean, and Director of Culturally and Linguistically Sustaining Practices/School Climate & Culture. Mr. Porch holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Canterbury University in London, studying Educational Philosophy.
