Dear Fletcher Maynard Academy Community:
It is with great pleasure that we announce Mr. Bobby Tynes as the new Principal of Fletcher Maynard Academy following his tenure as Interim Principal. I am grateful for his dedication to our students’ learning and growth and I am excited to continue to support him in his leadership journey.
Mr. Tynes is a lifelong educator who has spent more than 20 years with CPS. He was raised in the Port neighborhood and began his career as an elementary music teacher in Cambridge. A former CPS student himself, Mr. Tynes later served as both the Dean of Students and Assistant Principal at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS). Last August, he returned to the Port neighborhood to become the Interim Principal of FMA. Mr. Tynes’ strong ties to the Cambridge community, coupled with his shared commitment to centering diversity, respect, and excellence, will make him a wonderful permanent leader of the Fletcher Maynard Academy.
