Cambridge Fair

Dear CPS community,

I hope you are staying cool during this heat wave. We were delighted to see many families and partners at Saturday’s CPS Community Fair (pictures above).

This week, we celebrate the Class of 2021 at the upcoming graduation ceremonies for the High School Extension Program (June 9) and Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (June 10). I know you join me in congratulating this remarkable and resilient cohort of Cambridge youth and wish them the best of luck and success ahead.

CPS also recognizes LGBTQ+ Pride month this June. We stand with our LGBTQ+ students, staff, community members and allies as part of our collective efforts to support a more inclusive and equitable community and society.

Below you’ll find reminders about important end-of-year dates, including the next early release day for elementary schools (June 9), the collection of PreK-8 Chromebooks for summer check-up, and two upcoming Arts Performances, the CRLS Musical Theater Performance Showcase (June 8) and the RAUC Musical (June 11).

If you haven’t already, explore summer learning and program opportunities available throughout Cambridge. We are proud of our partnership with Cambridge’s Department of Human Services Programs (DHSP) to offer identified elementary students with full day summer opportunities to support their learning and fun this summer.

Looking ahead to the fall, we’re happy to share that DHSP announced last week that all after-school programs - including Community Schools and Youth Centers - will also operate in-person this fall. DHSP will release schedules and registration information soon.

Enjoy the week!
