"My son is enrolled in the Compass summer program and was scheduled to receive weekly speech sessions. The summer team identified him as a good candidate for the social pragmatics group that was running there. Instead of weekly individual sessions, he is getting a group that is much more frequent and relevant to his SLP work during the year. I wanted to thank the team for thinking 'outside the box' and offering him this wonderful opportunity!" --Nancy
"My son Henry loves going to school, which is the greatest compliment I can give to the ASD program at the Fletcher-Maynard Academy. His classroom teachers, therapists, aides and the entire FMA community have helped to create an environment that welcomes Henry’s different learning style and way of interacting with the world around him. He has grown tremendously in his three years at FMA. He is meeting or exceeding academic goals because of the skilled teaching and attention given to working through the behavioral differences that can keep Henry and many like him from achieving success in a typical classroom. Henry is part of the school community at FMA. Whenever I visit the school, I am always impressed by the number of students who know Henry by name. At FMA the children in the ASD classes are viewed by all as valued members of the school community. The inclusive environment is a core value of Fletcher Maynard Academy, and is one of the main reasons that I am so grateful to the caring faculty, staff and administrators who have helped make Henry’s first three years at FMA such a memorable success." -- Joseph
"I wanted to express my gratitude to you and the entire Autistic Special Education Team for all of the hard work and dedication that has gone into the developmental improvement of my son Carlo. Without your involvement and guidance pertaining to Carlo's Autism, he would not have progressed as well as he has. I must say that I have been very impressed with the services provided to Carlo and in particular the impact that Sam Goldman has had on his development. In addition, Suzi Sluyter has played a major role in support of Carlo's role in K-3.
Not only have you and your team helped my child with autism, you have also calmed the fears and addressed the needs of a very concerned parent of a child with autism. For that I am eternally grateful." -- Michelle
