Building Equity Bridges

The Building Equity Bridges project is a joint effort between the Cambridge Public Schools and the Cambridge Education Association, funded by the Nellie Mae Foundation, to facilitate a comprehensive, and transparent process to uncover the root causes of inequities in the Cambridge Public Schools.

The purpose of Building Equity Bridges has been to better understand and elevate root causes of inequity within Cambridge Public Schools. The first phase of this project engaged more than 200 CPS youth, families, and educators over the course of 12 months. It included digging deep and documenting a diverse range of CPS voices, conducting participatory action research, and examining existing data sources to investigate and synthesize barriers to equity to be shared back out to the CPS community.
