Sumbul Siddiqui graduated from CRLS in 2006. As a student, she was active in the theater department, performing in more than 10 productions, and in student government, serving as the Class of 2006 Student Body President.
“Taking theatre classes at CRLS allowed me to be confident, and develop a voice,” she says beaming with pride. “It is a great way to build relationships with others and gives you useful tools.”
During high school, Sumbul also co-founded the Cambridge Youth Council, which created a platform for students to become civilly engaged, and interact with the Cambridge City Council. After Rindge, Sumbul attended Brown University, graduating with honors in Public Policy in 2010, and then went on to pursue a law degree from Northwestern Law, graduating in 2014. Currently, Sumbul is a staff attorney at a nonprofit legal services organization, where she helps lead a Community Development and Entrepreneurship practice, providing legal assistance to entrepreneurs and small businesses. She is a board member of Cambridge School Volunteers, the CRLS Alumni Association, and serves as a Commissioner on the Cambridge Human Services Commission.
Although her work consumes much of her time, Sumbul tries to see see as many live shows as she can. “I try to see as many live shows as possible. I love stand up, and try to write and perform my own. I also love watching improv. I also like to watch theatre productions at the Huntington and ART whenever I can.”
