  • Thursday, September 9 for Grades 1 - 12
  • Monday, September 13 for preschool, junior kindergarten, and kindergarten classes.

Bus Information
Important information for CPS bus riders:
  • BusPlease review the bus safety information with your child so they will be ready to have a safe trip on their first day riding the bus. Read translated versions of the bus safety information: Arabic | Amharic | Bengali | Haitian- Creole | Spanish
  • Masks are required on the bus at all times
  • Arrive at your bus stop 10 minutes early
  • Windows required to remain open in all weather for COVID-19 safety reasons
  • After September 1, 2021, bus routes can be found here.
  • The “Bus Tracker” app will be upgraded on October 1, 2021
COVID-19 Testing & Scenarios
  • COVIDCPS will conduct once-weekly surveillance testing for all students and staff, which is most important for unvaccinated individuals, as well as symptomatic testing.
  • We are exploring additional testing options based on recent state updates.

MaskCOVID-19 Protocols
The current COVID-19 protocols, approved by the School Committee on August 3. See more details on our COVID-19 page.

  • Masks are required indoors for all staff and students for the first semester. We will revisit this policy no later than January.
  • COVID-19 vaccinations are not required for students. Proof of full vaccination is required for those participating in CPS-related travel, interns, student teachers, volunteers, and chaperones.
  • 3 feet of physical distancing is required only when masks are off or for higher respiration activities.
  • Meals must take place outdoors (weather permitting) or indoors with 3 feet distance between students facing in one direction
  • Visiting school? Appointments and masks required indoors. Indoor meetings are limited to rooms with at least 4 air exchange rates. Walking field trips and field trips requiring a bus ride of 1 hour or less are permitted.
  • Large community gatherings may take place outdoors and with food.
