Building on the success of our relationship with the
Neiman Fellows at Harvard, we have a new collaboration with Boston Globe editor and writer, John Vitti, Vitti is also the Journalism instructor for Watertown High School. This semester our sports journalism class and Watertown’s student newspaper held a conference call interview with Harvard student, Gabby Thomas. As the newest member of the New Balance Professional Track Team, Gabby responded to student questions about balancing being a student athlete and going pro.
More recently Media Journalism welcomed
presidential candidate Mayor Wayne Messam into the studio, giving students a chance to research,
prepare and support other students engaging in the political process. The candidate arrived with his
campaign field coordinator, Rashad, a recent Florida State University grad who also gave the audience
insights on his entry into politics and career goals. Mayor Messam fielded questions from our student for 45 minutes straight, all recorded in our studio
and
available for viewing.
