CPS salaries continue to be among the highest in the region. Cambridge was one of the first cities in the nation to ensure that all employees regardless of position are paid a living wage. In SY 2017/18, the average CPS teacher salary was $88,101. Starting salaries for novice teachers in the Cambridge Public Schools begin at over $55,000 and range between $95,000 - $106,000 for CPS teachers with Master's degrees or higher and 10 years’ experience.

Teacher Loan Forgiveness
Under the federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program, if you teach full-time for five complete and consecutive academic years in a low-income school or educational service agency, and meet other qualifications, you may be eligible for forgiveness of up to $17,500 on your Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans and your Subsidized and Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loans.
