The rewards of working for Cambridge Public Schools go beyond salary and benefits. We respect the time and resources of our teaching faculty, offering stipended service opportunities, up to $1,500 in available annual tuition reimbursements, and up to $450 per year in reimbursements for out of pocket classroom expenses.

CPS salaries continue to be among the highest in the region. Cambridge was one of the first cities in the nation to ensure that all employees regardless of position are paid a living wage. In SY 2017/18, the average CPS teacher salary was $88,101. Starting salaries for novice teachers in the Cambridge Public Schools begin at over $55,000 and range between $95,000 - $106,000 for CPS teachers with Master's degrees or higher and 10 years’ experience.

Our extensive employee benefits include health and dental insurance, paid holidays and a generous sick leave allowance based on full-time or part-time work schedules of 20 hours or more per week. Teacher Loan Forgiveness
Under the federal Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program, if you teach full-time for five complete and consecutive academic years in a low-income school or educational service agency, and meet other qualifications, you may be eligible for forgiveness of up to $17,500 on your Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans and your Subsidized and Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loans.
