Math Placement for Arriving 9th Graders
Hello and welcome to the Cambridge Rindge & Latin School's Mathematics department web site. The
CRLS Math department consists of 33 dedicated teachers who are
committed to providing the best mathematics instruction possible to the
students of Cambridge. Helping students reach their full potential as
mathematicians, logical problem-solvers and critical thinkers is one of
the primary goal of the department. To help achieve this goal, teachers
are asked to meet students where they are and to challenge each student
through thought-provoking and engaging lessons in which each student is
an active participant in their learning. Using the most current
technology, proven instructional strategies and data-driven decision
making, the department strives to offer students a daily opportunity to
acquire the skills they will need for the 21st Century and beyond.
We invite parents and guardians to be active participants in this journey as well. Using Aspen,
parents and guardians are asked to stay abreast as to what is happening
in your child's classroom. At a minimum, your teacher's Edline page
will include your child's course syllabus as well as homework
assignments. Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact teachers
via e-mail or by telephone with any questions, comments or concerns you
may have. We also invite you to explore all of the information and
resources included here and welcome any suggestions you may have.
On behalf of the entire CRLS Mathematics department, I am confident
that working together we will have a very successful and gratifying
school year!
Sincerely,
Siobahn Mulligan

CRLS Math Department Partners with TEALS Program
This
year the CRLS Math Department has partnered with Microsoft Corporation
whereby a CRLS teacher, Doug McGlathery, co-teaches an AP Computer
Science class with a member of Microsoft's TEALS Program. To be part of
the TEALS Program people do not need to be Microsoft employees. In fact,
many are not. Interested in volunteering, click here to learn more.
