Estimadas familias,

¡Hemos tenido una semana maravillosa aquí en Amigos!!

El miércoles celebramos la Noche de Galería. El trabajo artístico de nuestros estudiantes y el ojo para el diseño de Srta. Annette hizo que nuestro sótano se transformara en una galería asombrosa. ¡Gracias Srta. Annette!

El miércoles 8 de mayo, habrá un FLASH Rally en el parque escolar de Amigos empezando a las 8:00 am. ¡Acompáñenos para apoyar y animar a los corredores de la Carrera Ragnar! Cada año est@s madres y padres atletas se lanzan a correr 200 millas con el propósito de recaudar dinero para FOA y para nuestra escuela.

Recuerden que en mayo 22 y 23 tendremos el intercambio de libros en la tarima del gimnasio auspiciado for Friends of Amigos (FOA). Traigan un libro, en español y/o en inglés, en buenas o excelentes condiciones y así hacer un trueque.

El jueves 23 de mayo tendremos la Casa Abierta para el Jardín Infantil de la clase 2019. Este es un momento muy emocionante para las nuevas familias que visitarán nuestra escuela, conocerán nuestra facultad, y comenzarán a formar parte de nuestra comunidad de Amigos. ¡Esperamos conocerlos pronto!

Finalmente, favor participen en la encuesta de compromiso familiar. ¡El último día para participar es el 10 de mayo!

Dear Families,

What a wonderful and busy week we had here at Amigos!

On Wednesday, we celebrated Noche de Galería. The beautiful student artwork and Ms. Annette’s eye for design made our school basement look like a real art gallery. It was quite amazing to see. Thank you, Ms. Annette!

Next Wednesday, May 8th starting at 8am there will be a FLASH Rally in the playground. Please stop by to support our Ragnar Race Runners!! Each year these amazing parent athletes hit the road for 200 miles to help raise money for FOA and our school.

Remember that we will be having the Amigos Book Swap, sponsored by the Friends of Amigos (FOA). The swap will run from Wednesday, May 22nd to Thursday, May 23rd on the gymnatorium stage at school. Bring a book in Spanish and/or in English, in good to excellent condition and/or take a book home.

Thursday, May 23 we have our Kindergarten Open House for the Kindergarten class of 2019! This is an exciting time for our new families to come to the building, meet the staff and begin to form a part of our Amigos community. We look forward to meeting our new families.

Finally, please participate in the family engagement survey. The last day to participate is May 10!

Chaperoning
All parents must fill out a CORI form at least 2 weeks in advance before chaperoning field trips or volunteering in the school.

Family Liaison
Lillian Rater, will be offering office hours. Her office hours will be by appointment on Tuesdays and Fridays 9 - 11AM. You can contact her by email or at 617.349.6315.

CitySprouts Summer Youth Internship at the Cambridge Upper Schools
July 2 - August 9
Monday through Friday | 9AM - 1PM
All 11 - 14 year olds are eligible. There is no cost for the internship program. Have fun gardening, cooking, science activities and learning about the environment. Students who complete the program will receive a $150 stipend (must be available for the entire 6 weeks). Applications have been sent home with students. They are due on May 3.
