Curiosity Challenge Award Winners!
Our very own fourth graders, Angie and Marika, were winners at the 2016 Cambridge Science Curiosity Challenge Award! There were over 2,500 entries this year! They received their awards on Sunday, April 24th at MIT. Well done Angie and Marika!

Fourth Grade
The Fourth grade traveled to the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) on April 27th! They loved attending the BSO Youth concert. The “Sound Decisions - a Musical Look at Choice, Chance, and Application” concert was presented by Thomas Wilkins, Germeshausen Youth and Family Concerts conductor.

Thanks to parent Jenny Talbot for making the front of our school so beautiful! Jenny has been planting bulbs every Fall for the last several years! Nice to see at least the tulips like the rain!

RACE MATTERS AT HAGGERTY

Race Matters: Courageous Conversations at Haggerty
Childcare provided.
Melissa Bartholomew is a trained facilitator who speaks with people of all backgrounds and faiths to discuss race, social justice and equity. Melissa facilitates workshops regarding racial justice and healing rooted in the ethic of love. This workshop will assist our community by providing the necessary skills and tools to talk with one another and to our children. Resources and children's books focused on teaching about Race will be on display.

FAMILY STEAM NIGHT
Save the date for a brand new community event here at Haggerty: Our first ever Family STEAM Night on May 24, from 6 - 7:30PM. STEAM is the acronym that stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math. It will be an evening of fun, hands-on activities for all ages! Teachers, parents and some outside groups are organizing this event. Activities include: Build your own scribbling ArtBot! Turn a banana into a piano or drum with Makey Makeys in the Computer Lab! Dig into MIT's Augmented Reality Sandbox! And much more!
