Read Across America Day
On Friday, March 11th, the Haggerty community celebrated Read Across America Day by coming to school dressed as their favorite book character! We came together for an all school assembly and got to see everyone's costumes! Classrooms also decorated their classroom doors with the cover of one of their favorite books. It was a fun day that showed off our love of reading! Thanks to Ms. Novo for sharing her love of books in the library with us every day!

Library Corner: Illustrator Visit
E.B. Lewis met with grades 1-5. He shared childhood stories of life before he discovered his passion, art. A beloved uncle took him to Saturday morning art classes at Temple University for six years. He encouraged students to find what they love in life. He also shared the process he uses for illustrating picture books. We learned that the two young girls who were models for The Other Side have remained friends to this day! It was an amazing morning in the Haggerty Library. Read more >>
Parent Workshop: Summer Camps
In a survey of our parent community last Spring, many parents said they wanted to hear about "Out of School Time" Enrichment! We listened and have scheduled a parent workshop on "Out-of-School Time" and Summer Camps on Wednesday, April 6th from 6 - 7:30PM. The meeting will include the Coummunity Outreach Workers, Susan Richards, and Khari Milner (Co-Directors of Out-of-School Time Initiative of the Agenda for Children). We will have childcare available and pizza. Please save the date! RSVP to Lissa.
