Volunteers Needed: The Coast Kitchen
The Coast Kitchen (TCK) is a pilot program that has been made possible through a mutually beneficial collaboration between the Cambridge Community Center (CCC), Food For Free, and Harvard University. Through this established partnership, Food For Free collects large quantities of flash-frozen food from Harvard's dining halls that would have otherwise gone to waste. Since the summer of 2014, a portion of this food has been delivered to the CCC at no cost and is being used for monthly family night events and for feeding the children in our OST programs.
The Coast Kitchen needs volunteers to help with setting up tables and chairs, food prep, food service, and clean-up. Volunteers can choose to work from 4:30 – 6:30PM or from 6:30 – 8:30PM (or both if you are able and willing) on the nights that we serve meals. No prior experience is necessary. This is a monthly volunteer opportunity. All questions and inquiries can be directed to Darrin Korte.
