CRLS Students

Are You As Smart as a CRLS Student?
March 22, 2017 | 7PM
The academic contest of the year is only two weeks away and the CRLS Alumni Association wants you involved.

All you have to do to win one of the top prizes of $300, $200 and $100 is enter a team of you and  three classmates and answer questions  in competition against  adults from the  community. Teams can be a club, a sports team, a particular class or just friends.

This is not a trivia contest. The questions will be based on subjects you are learning in school.

Jimmy Tingle, a Cambridge alum and well-known stand up comedian, will be asking the questions. The CRLS Jazz combo will perform and free smart food will be served.

Last year the student team captured first place beating the adult team from Google. The alumni are hoping the students will again take first place this year.

To register a team just see science teacher Mr. McGuiness in Room 3402 or send the name of your team to by email to us. Learn more >>

Join/Support the 31st Annual Cambridge City Run/Henrietta's Walk on April 2nd
Please attend/support this annual community event attracting hundreds of runners/walkers from Cambridge, surrounding communities and CRLS sports teams.  CRLS Athletes through Friends of Cambridge Athletics (FOCA) are the lead beneficiaries with proceeds supporting student scholarships and the needs of athletic teams. FOCA is coordinating the event with The City of Cambridge Recreation and Athletics Departments as well as Marathon Sports as co-sponsors. The Andrea Harvey Fund is another co-sponsor with some proceeds supporting their scholarships awards program and domestic violence awareness (Andrea was a CRLS graduate and East Boston High teacher). Notable changes this year are the venue as it takes place at Danehy Park rather than Fresh Pond and the distance: It is 5k rather than 5 miles. To run, walk, volunteer and/or donate, click here. Address questions about group discounts, sponsoring, or volunteering by email.

Get Involved with FOCA

There are many opportunities for parent engagement at CRLS and the Friends of Cambridge Athletics (FOCA) supports many aspects of this process for the athletics program. Participation is simple and there are many volunteer opportunities. Areas range from FOCA events to serving as parent liaison to teams. To learn more about our work and to get involved visit our website, send an email, or just come to one of our meetings held the 2nd Tuesday of the month in the Athletics office 6 - 7:30PM.

This was the first year we offered SAT prep during the first semester and will plan to next Fall. We will begin our Spring services on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in CRLS library's fiction room.
