Bunny

Internship in Community Arts Administration, Cambridge Wildlife Puppetry Project
The Cambridge Wildlife Puppetry Project, a project of the Friends of Tobin, Inc with funding from the Cambridge Arts Council, seeks 1-2 interns.

The intern will assist in activities that provide Cambridge families and youth access to (1) information about Cambridge wildlife and urban wildlife habitats; and (2) participatory experiences in the creation of and parading of large puppets that represent Cambridge wildlife. The internship includes working with a professional artist in workshops with partner organizations and facilitating youth and family participation in public science and art events. 

This is a volunteer internship, but volunteer interns will receive a stipend that will vary depending on sessions on which they work. Each session will require one intern (see dates on application).

Requirements:

  • Cambridge resident or student in a Cambridge high school or higher education institution
  • 15 years of age or older
  • Good communication skills, outgoing personality, enthusiasm for the arts
  • CORI for interns 18 years of age

Preferred:

  • An interest or career goal in the arts, science or art education, environmental science, wildlife biology, or community development.

Summer Design Exploration Program
Application Deadline: May 22
Harvard Graduate School of Design is currently accepting applications for the 2015 program for high school students at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Admission is rolling basis, therefore students are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as they are able to. The program is fully funded by the Harvard Graduate School of Design and is FREE for all admitted students. Noonan

Noonan Scholars Summer Academy
Application Deadline: May 10
Starting this summer in Boston it is modeled after our South Central Scholars Summer Academy at USC in Los Angeles.  We have hired professors from MIT and  Emerson College to teach English, Critical Thinking, Math and Calculus. It is a 7 week, 8 hour a day, day program for underserved, mostly first generation students. Free T passes and lunch are provided. Apply online or download the application.

Photo Archive High School Internship

Draper Laboratory is offering 10 positions as part of a six-week internship to rising juniors/seniors who attend high schools located in Cambridge. The students will work on an audio-visual digitization project under the supervision of Draper's Audio-Visual Supervisor. Learn more >>

Discover @ Wheaton Summer College

A new, credit-earning experience for high school students who wish to experience a residential college first-hand and gain valuable classroom experience in the process.  
Located at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, this program is designed for talented and driven (rising) high school juniors and seniors. Our four-week, intensive program allows participants to take one of four courses, participate in a wide variety of social activities, and travel throughout New England to experience all that this historic area has to offer.

Rise Up

Rise Up
July 6 - 31 | Monday - Friday | 7:50AM - 2:30PM | CRLS
Rise Up is an enriching 4-week summer program open to eligible* rising 9th graders. Participation will prepare students for a successful transition to their high school career. Under the guidance of high school teachers, students strengthen their essential skills in Math, Literacy, and/or Science and build their knowledge and study skills through fun activities. Students make social connections with peers and high school teachers which leads to a more comfortable transition to high school. We are fortunate enough to partner with MYSEP, so eligible students can get paid throughout the program and students not enrolled in the Mayor’s Program can receive 10 credits upon entrance to CRLS. Barnard

Barnard Summer 2015
Application Deadline: June 5
Is offering five unique programs that offer students an opportunity to delve into the worlds of dance, science, web development, psychology, U.S politics, film-making, leadership, entrepreneurship, writing, and much more. Scholarships are also available.

Applications are on the website and students are accepted on a rolling basis, based on a review of completed applications, including all supporting documents.


Mount Auburn

Mt. Auburn Hospital Summer Hospital Volunteer Program Applications Now Available
Application Deadline: May 5
Are you interested in a health care related career? Find out more about careers in health care by volunteering at Mt. Auburn Hospital this summer. The program begins June 29, 2015.

Student volunteers must be at least 14 years of age, have a physical exam, a TB test, a personal interview (before June 8) and be available to work at least one day a week for at least a six week period over the summer.

For an application, please see Mrs. Garman in RM 1308 (near Carpentry) or Jeanne in the CCRC RM 1501.

JUST-A-START'S TEENWORK PROGRAM
If you are 16 or older and want to work this summer but you're looking for something more than MSYEP you can apply the TeenWork program. We will train you on how to find and prepare for a job, and then help you to get a job. We currently have many various job openings. Grab an application at the Youth Employment Center (YEC) located on the 2nd floor of CRLS, room 2101 everyday during lunch A and B.

ECO-ACTION
The Eco-Action internship offers a unique platform for Cambridge youth and local businesses to work together to make businesses more environmentally sustainable.
