Dear Families,

It is hard to believe that our first month of school is over with October’s arrival! It has been a busy month and school is definitely in full swing. I want to let you know that our school handbooks are posted on the Amigos webpage under the tab labeled “For Amigos Families” (click on "Amigos Information"). Please take a moment to read through our handbooks. We hope that they will provide you with important information, guidelines and policies about our school and further work to strengthen the communication between home and school. We will also be sending one hard copy home with each family.

Today, I would also like to take a moment to remind families that students should not bring toys or trading cards to school. These items are disruptive to the educational process and are often lost, broken or given away without parental permission. I thank you in advance for your support with this issue.

Estimadas familias,

¡Es difícil creer que nuestro primer mes de escuela ha terminado con la llegada de octubre! Ha sido un mes ocupado y la escuela definitivamente está en pleno apogeo. Quiero dejarles saber que nuestros manuales escolares están publicados en la página de Amigos en la pestaña "For Amigos Families". Por favor, tomen un momento para leerlos. Esperamos que ellos les provean información, guías y políticas sobre nuestra escuela y sobre cómo fortalecer la comunicación entre la escuela y las familias. También enviaremos una copia impresa a casa con cada familia.

Hoy, también, me gustaría tomar un momento para recordarle a las familias que los estudiantes no deben traer juguetes o tarjetas intercambiables a la escuela. Estos juguetes interfieren con el proceso educativo y, a menudo, se pierden, se rompen o se regalan sin permiso de los padres. Les agradezco de antemano por su apoyo con este tema.
