Back to School Night
September 28 | 6 - 7:30PM
Our first full week of school is nearly behind us! Please mark your calendar - next Wednesday night is our Back to School Night! The evening is geared toward parents, but we will have childcare for school-aged students. I will send home a sign-up sheet on Monday for childcare, or just email me and I will add your children to the list. The evening will start in the gymnasium with a welcome for our Principal Nancy. After this general introduction, there will be time to visit and hear from classroom teachers in your child's classroom.
We still need room parents in some classrooms!

We need at least one room parent in the following rooms: Yeh (105), Callender (210), Hassett (211), Kline (108), Kuo (212), Karwowski (213), Moloney (306), Barker (307), Stewart (304), and Faucher (305). Please contact Lissa to volunteer!

Danehy Day

Danehy Day: Thank You
Thanks to the efforts of our entire school community, Haggerty’s concession stand at Danehy Day was a huge success! Thank you to the many families who supported our school by baking brownies, donating water or juice, making sandwiches, working the stand, popping and bagging popcorn or stopping by to say hello and buy our delicious food! It was a real team effort and all contributions, big and small, are deeply appreciated. Read more >>

Book Exchange Schedule
I’ve enjoyed welcoming everyone back to our library. This past week the district’s new cataloging and automation system was installed. It’s been very exciting to see the students’ enthusiasm for borrowing books. If you’ve never been to the Haggerty library with your child, please stop by and enjoy the amazing 4th floor view. Read more >>

Youcubed!
In grades 1 through 5, teachers launched their math curriculum with a week of “inspirational math” from Youcubed. Students learned that believing that they can learn math and making mistakes actually helps their brains grow! They also engaged in a range of math activities, from visualizing numbers to making graphs to solving math puzzles. Read more >>

Potluck

International Potluck
Thursday, October 27th | 5:30 - 7PM
Please help us plan this annual gathering of all families! In the past we have had families organize cultural displays of various countries and families bring food dishes to share that also represent a specific culture or country. Help us plan this year's celebration of our wonderful school community. Planning meeting is Tuesday, October 4th at 8AM.
