Orienteering

Orienteering Event
December 20 | Magazine Beach
Cambridge Sports Union (CSU) and Navigation Games are hosting orienteering events in Cambridge parks for the next four Sundays. Orienteering involves using a map and compass to find specific locations marked on the map in a specific order. At each location, there is an electronic device that gives you a time, and you get a printout of your times at the end. It's great fun and  a great outdoor family event -- kind of like a big treasure hunt. Participants should just show up between 10 and 11:30AM and look for the blue awning. If you need instructions, someone will be happy to help. Suggested donation $1 to $5.

Breakthrough

Volunteer with Breakthrough
Breakthrough Greater Boston is looking for CRLS students to be Academic Mentors for our middle school students. Academic Mentors are paired with a student for an entire semester, and Mentors work with their student one-on-one to develop study skills in core academic subjects. Interested? Please contact Kelly Alfaro or stop by the BTGB office in room 2104 to apply.

Our qualified tutors work with the student’s school curriculum, instead of a predetermined program that may not relate to current class work. Club Z! tutors also teach effective study skills thus helping students learn “smarter”. For more information please visit us online.
