A Note from Principal Tony Beyers
It’s the last month of school! It’s a long month, as far as Junes go, but it’s still the home stretch. MCAS is behind us and classroom calendars are starting to fill with field trips and other end-of-school events. On the whole, it’s an exciting time of year. Read more >>

Friends of Graham & Parks News
As the school year winds down, Friends of G&P has been talking about community events for the 2015-2016 school year. We are planning to put on a Fall Festival in October, an International Night in November, a Winter Celebration in January, Movie Nights in January and February, a Flatbread Pizza fundraiser in March, a Spelling Bee in April in conjunction with Poetry month, and two Arts Committee Events for May—the Folk Dance and the All-School Art Show. None of this can happen without serious help and engagement from the entire Graham & Parks Community so we hope you will consider volunteering to help us with at least one of these events.
Many thanks to all of you who have helped us this year... it was great to work with and get to know so many parents, and we were all touched by the generosity so many of you showed in your commitment to our school community.

G&P Families in Need of Housing
The Cambridge House Authority (CHA) is planning to renovate close to 900 public housing units throughout the city. The scope of the renovation will require that families living in these units relocate for up to three years. In most cases, families will be able to relocate temporarily into other CHA public housing units. However, there will be some families who opt to take a voucher and will be looking for apartments in Cambridge. If you know of affordable two- or three-bedroom apartments in Cambridge, please contact Mildrid Gédéon at 617-349-6577 or [email protected].
Library Needs Book Donations for Summer Reading
The library is looking for donations of new or gently used books that we can share with students who need some extra summer reading support. We especially need beginner chapter books (similar to Clementine, Magic Tree House, Ellray Jakes, Galaxy Zack, Judy Moody and Stink, Jake Maddox sports series, etc.) and easier nonfiction titles.
If you have books to donate, please bring them to the library.
Thank you!

Family Cultural Exchange Program (FCEP) Coordinator
A special message from teachers Jocelyn Marshall, Karen Engels, Melissa Brimmer & Sheila Dillon:
Back in April, the 4th Grade community was honored to host an event with G&P's Family Cultural Exchange Program. The FCEP program has been around for several years and has been a wonderful way to support our SEI families and other international families new to Cambridge. The current coordinators are stepping down and we thought some of you might be interested in keeping this fantastic program alive either as a co-coordinator or as one of the host families.
If you are interested in participating in the program or helping to organize events, you can contact current coordinator Stephanie Reis directly or any one of us.
Thank you for all that you already do for G&P. It is families like you that make our community so strong and unique.
–Jocelyn, Karen, Melissa & Sheila
