¡Feliz Año Nuevo! El año 2022 ha tenido un comienzo algo complicado, pero podemos manejarlo. Nuestra Comunidad de Amigos es fuerte, estamos aquí unos para otros y nos apoyaremos mutuamente. Perseverancia, Compasión e Integridad- ¿Quienes somos? ¡¡Somos Amigos!!
COVID
Nuestras pruebas de vigilancia están de nuevo en marcha y funcionando y hemos sido capaces de identificar los casos positivos e identificar contactos cercanos. Seguiremos manteniendo la seguridad de nuestra comunidad centrándonos en este programa. Si su hij@ está vacunado, por favor tómese un momento para visitar el Portal de la Familia y subir la prueba de vacunación. Si necesita ayuda con esto, la escuela estará encantada de ayudarle. Por último, si su estudiante está ausente, por favor llame o envíe un correo electrónico para informarnos antes de las 10AM del día de la ausencia.
Día de MLK
No olvide que no hay escuela el lunes ya que es el día de Martin Luther King Jr. Si están buscando maneras de celebrar el impacto del Dr. King, pueden unirse a la Caminata Comunitaria del Día MLK organizada por Many Helping Hands, My Brother's Keeper y la YWCA.
Honre la vida y el trabajo del Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. reuniéndose como comunidad para caminar desde Starlight en Central Square a través del Barrio del Puerto y aprender sobre la historia negra y marrón de Cambridge. Reflexionaremos sobre lo que podemos hacer cada uno individualmente y como comunidad para ayudar a crear una comunidad equitativa que nos acerque a la justicia e igualdad racial. More details >>
Buenas noticias
Estoy emocionada de compartir con ustedes que nuestro equipo de voleibol femenino quedó en primer lugar en el Campeonato de Voleibol de las escuelas intermedias de CPSD. ¡Vencieron a CSUS y estamos muy orgullos@s de nuestr@s Jaguares! Por favor, únanse a mí para felicitar a Mia Naranjo, Emily Wintner, Marin Albrecht, Nia Fifield, Cecilia Prasanna, Avie Marshall, Ava Keating, Gabi Ravic, Eliana Ormeno, Kayden Marshall, Malena Alvarez Saavedra y Nina Montorzi. Estoy muy orgullosa de ellas. Un gran agradecimiento también para el entrenador Bonilla y el entrenador Bacher por su excelente trabajo con el equipo.

Lunes 17 de enero: Día festivo de Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. No hay clases.
Martes, 18 de enero: Les invitamos a la reunión virtual de Friends of Amigos (FOA) que se llevará a cabo de 6PM a 7PM. Las reuniones serán el tercer martes del mes de 6PM a 7PM. Las siguientes son las fechas de las reuniones de FOA para 2022: 1/8, 2/15, 3/15, 4/19, 5/17, 6/21.
Martes, 18 de enero: Reunión del Comité Escolar de Cambridge de 6PM a 8PM.
Domingo 23 de enero: Se termina el primer semestre del año escolar: Las boletas de calificaciones de la Escuela Amigos serán distribuidas durante la semana del 23 de enero.

COVID
Our surveillance testing is back on track and working and we have been able to identify positive cases and close contacts efficiently. We will continue to keep our community safe by focusing on this program. If your child is vaccinated, please take a moment to visit the Family Portal and upload proof of vaccination. If you need help with this, the school is happy to assist you. Finally, if your student is absent, please call or email to let us know before 10AM on the day of absence.
MLK Day
Don’t forget there is no school on Monday as it is Martin Luther King Jr. day. If you are looking for ways to celebrate Dr. King’s impact, you may want to join in the MLK Day Community Walk organized by Many Helping Hands, My Brother’s Keeper and the YWCA.
Honor Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and work by coming together as a community to walk from Starlight in Central Square through The Port Neighborhood and learn about Cambridge’s Black and Brown History. We will reflect on what we can each do individually and as a community to help create an equitable community that brings us closer to racial justice and equality. More details >>
Some Good News
I am thrilled to share with you that our girls’ volleyball team came in first place in our CPSD Upper School Volleyball Championship. They beat CSUS and we are so proud of our Jaguars! Please join me in congratulating students Mia Naranjo, Emily Wintner, Marin Albrecht, Nia Fifield, Cecilia Prasanna, Avie Marshall, Ava Keating, Gabi Ravic, Eliana Ormeno, Kayden Marshall, Malena Alvarez Saavedra and Nina Montorzi! I am so proud of them. A big thank you also goes to Coach Bonilla and Coach Bacher for their excellent work with the team.

January 3-31: Families can begin to register younger siblings of Amigos students for the Jr.K/Kindergarten 2022 Lottery online at cpsd.us If you have any questions please contact Family Liaison Lillian Rater, 617.349.6315 or the Student Registration Center, 617.349.6551.
Monday, January 17: Holiday: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. No School.
Tuesday, January 18: The Friends of Amigos (FOA) Virtual meeting will be held from 6-7PM. The meetings will be held the third Tuesday of the month from 6-7PM. The following are the FOA meeting dates for 2022: 1/18, 2/15, 3/15, 4/19, 5/17, 6/21.
Tuesday, January 18: Cambridge School Committee Meeting, 6-8PM.
Sunday, January 23: The First Semester of the academic year ends. The Amigos School Report Cards will be distributed during the week of January 31st.
