Message from Family Liaison
Hello Morse community! I want to take a moment and give a special shoutout to Special Start; what an awesome job they did at the Marathon held last Friday 11/19! Way to go Thank you to the parents that came out to support! During the holiday season I want to wish all families a safe and enjoyable holiday!

Travel Policies (updated 11/5/21)
Fully vaccinated individuals
Domestic Travel
- Get tested prior to travel and 3-5 days after return (consider pooled testing program at schools if your school’s testing schedule falls in the 3-5 day range or consider a city testing site).
- While both a rapid antigen test and a viral (PCR) test are acceptable, a PCR test is preferred.
International Travel
- Upon return, self-monitor for symptoms and get tested 3-5 days after return.
- In addition, a negative COVID test is required before you may board an airplane or cross an international border.
Unvaccinated or Partially Vaccinated Individuals
Domestic Travel
- Get tested prior to travel and 3-5 days after return (consider pooled testing program at schools if your school’s testing schedule falls in the 3-5 day range or consider a city testing site).
- While both a rapid antigen test and a viral (PCR) test are acceptable, a PCR test is preferred.
International Travel:
- Get tested with a viral (PCR) test 3-5 days after travel AND stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel (even if you test negative). You may return on the 8th day after returning home from travel if you are negative. Please share your negative test result with the school nurse.
- If you don’t get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.
- Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness for 14 days, whether you get tested or not.
- In addition, for international travel, a negative COVID test is required before you may board an airplane or cross an international border.
Additionally, while traveling, we encourage all individuals to travel responsibly by:
- Wearing a mask
- Practicing good hygiene
- If dining indoors, open windows and doors
Travel policies may change periodically in response to changes in vaccination rates and infection rates in other communities.

Virtual Parent/Caregiver Q&A Panel at Putnam Ave. with PAFA

Led by PAFA (Putnam Ave. Family Association) & Putnam Ave Upper School.
Meet with parents and caregivers to learn more about Putnam Ave! Please register to attend.
Join us for a virtual zoom event, to learn about life in middle school at Putnam Ave., highlighted through the voices and experiences of our Putnam Ave families in a panel discussion. This is a family focused evening. Students are encouraged to attend.

Mid-Semester Parent Caregiver Teacher Conferences
Mid-Semester Parent Caregiver Teacher Conferences will be from December 29th to December 30th.

No Pool Testing at School, 11/22 - 11/24
No pool testing at school the week of Thanksgiving, 11/22-11/24. Also, there will be no community COVID testing in Cambridge that week at the usual sites on Wednesday, 11/24 through Saturday, 11/27.
Families who need testing during that time are encouraged to plan accordingly and be tested in the community on Sunday, 11/21 at from 2-6PM. at 50 Church Street or on Monday 11/22 from 4-8PM, on the 3rd floor inside the CambridgeSide mall. Use the escalator near the Cheesecake Factory on the CambridgeSide Place end of the mall or take the elevator to go to the 3rd level for testing. Free parking is available in the lower level of the parking garage and the entrance is located on CambridgeSide Place.

Sibling Search Survey - JK/K Lottery
The sibling search survey has begun as of November 8th and will end on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. This year the JK/K Lottery will begin on Monday, January 3rd, 2022 and end promptly in our online system at 4PM on Monday, January 31st. This deadline applies to any family submitting an application online, paper application in person or emailed.
