Today and tomorrow we will have the following Covid Safety Check Pool Testing schedule for STUDENTS ONLY. Staff testing will begin next week.
Tuesday, September 14, 2021: 9th and 10th grade students with previously signed consents
Wednesday, September 15, 2021: 11th and 12th grade students with previously signed consents
Testing will take place during all three lunch periods from 11:50AM - 1:40PM outside the main entrance of the Rindge Building.

CRLS Fall Semester Curriculum Night
September 23 | 6-7:30 PM
Curriculum Night is a time to learn about what your child will be studying for the semester. Teachers will be pre-recording and sending caregivers their presentation of their course description, syllabus and grade policy for you to watch at your convenience on or before September 23.

Drivers Education
Registeration
Tuesday, September 21 | 3 - 5 PM, Auto Garage (456 Broadway)
When & Where: All classes will be held virtually. Classes meet twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting September 28th. Students must attend 30 hours of classroom instruction
Cost: $650, which covers the 15 classroom sessions, the parent class, as well as the required 12 lessons of behind the wheel instruction. This price does not cover any fees charged by the Registry of Motor Vehicles for the permit, road test, or license.

Please note: A state mandated 2 hour class must be attended by a caregiver for any student under 18 years of age.

CRLS Parent-to-Parent Meetings
The CRLS Parent-to- Parent meeting is an informal group of caregivers who come together once a month to support each other through the challenges of parenting teens. Meeting will stay virtual for covid safety and accessibility.

Big Band Jazz Ensemble Auditions & Falcon Band
Audition for the CRLS Big Band Jazz Ensemble!
Big Band is a year long large jazz ensemble that rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 6 - 9PM. Auditions are held throughout September and the ensemble starts up in October. Instruments include saxophones, trumpets, trombones, guitar, piano, bass and drums. We perform styles of funk, latin, swing, bebop and rock. Please contact Mr. Powers with any questions. All audition materials are located on the Big Band Google Classroom.

This non-auditioned large performance ensemble is for those students who play a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument. It meets after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the band room, 0607. BWSI - Free Virtual Fall Program OPEN

Cambridge Public Library Updates
The current Main Library Teen Room hours are 1-5PM seven days a week. The rest of the Main Library is open until 9PM Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. The City of Cambridge requires all visitors and employees – vaccinated or not – to wear a mask while in City buildings, including Library locations. While this mandate is in effect, there is no eating permitted inside the Library.
The Hive Tour & Equipment Training

Teens are invited to visit The Hive, the Library's new makerspace, to get a tour and training on some of the fun equipment during two teen-only open house sessions on 9/22 and 9/29.

Vampire Orienteering at Danehy Park

CRLS students are invited to the annual Vampire Orienteering event at Danehy Park on Thursday evening October 28th. Teams use a map to find checkpoints after dark. Watch out for vampires!

Black Bean Salad! Black beans with chopped tomatoes and a squeeze of lime juice, serve with corn chips. Tip: 3 food groups all wrapped up in one snack! Add a little avocado for healthy fats to help kids stay full!
