A Note from Principal Tony Beyers
Spring at Graham and Parks is finally here, although a part of me will refuse to believe it until our garden is in full bloom. However, I have noticed the return of a different kind of annual. Read more >>

An Awesome Poetry Month Celebration
Huge thanks to Kathy Greeley and her Harvard interns Josh Jenkins and Alex Welch for launching Poetry Month with a terrific Poetry and Pastries evening at G&P. Kids and adults of all ages celebrated words and inspiration by picking words from a word bowl and stringing them into poems or by making a watercolor painting to represent a poem. There was also a basket of treasures to write about, a litany poem station, and a station to make mosaic stepping stones for the garden. From Junior Kindergarteners to grand-parents there was something for everyone. We ended our celebration by meeting in the cafeteria to share some of our poems—despite the rainy evening, it was clear that everyone had spring on their minds but it was amazing how many different ways everyone found to celebrate the season. The power of poetry! Tony ended the evening by sharing one of his favorite poems by poet Li-Young Lee. All in all a very special event. If you missed it, the good news is that it will be back next April!
