Debate Club
The CRLS Debate Club is starting up again this year welcoming new members on Wednesday, September 30th at 3PM .Come talk (and debate) current events with us and learn about the thrilling world of competitive debate! BAM (Becoming a Man) Program
Begins at CRLS
BAM is a school-based group counseling and social-emotional learning program. BAM program uses a curriculum that combines a dynamic approach to youth engagement, clinical process and theory, and men’s rites of passage work. CRLS Modern Dance Company
The CRLS Modern Dance Company is excited to announce our upcoming online audition! If you like to dance, this is the place for you! All levels of experience welcome! Open to grades 9-12. Auditions will be held virtually! Click here to fill out an audition form!
On Tuesday, 9/29 we will send out a tutorial video of the audition choreography. Dancers will learn one combo and then submit a video of it online via Google Drive to Brenda Divelbliss by Wednesday 10/7 at 12noon! Just fill out the audition form to get a link to the tutorial, and make sure you have a completed media release form on file with the school before submitting your video.
Don't worry, we know it's tough to learn from video so we will have a live Zoom Q & A on Friday, 10/2 for interested dancers to practice together, ask questions and clear up any confusion you might have. Just email Brenda Divelbliss or fill out the audition form to have the link sent to you for this workshop!
New Annual Report from Friends of CRLS Features Recent Grads
Friends of CRLS recently released their new annual report, a collection of highlights from the organization's 2019-2020 school year. The online booklet features photos from Class of 2020 scholarship awardees with their own words about their college and career plans and how scholarships bring their goals closer. Also included are photos and bios from the 2020 Faculty Distinction Awardees, thanks to donors and sponsors, recognition of volunteers and helpful colleagues, and the remembrance of retired CRLS principal Dr. Christopher Saheed. Remembering Dr. Christopher Saheed, Retired CRLS Principal
 Friends of Cambridge Rindge & Latin School (FOCRLS) would like to share with the community an appreciation of Christopher Saheed, who was CRLS's principal before Damon Smith and a key collaborator in establishing FOCRLS. Dr. Saheed retired in 2011 and moved to Florida, where he passed away on June 25, 2020. When FOCRLS reached out to James Maloney, Chief Operating Officer of the District (Cambridge Public Schools), for a memory about Dr. Saheed, he responded, “I had the good fortune of working closely with Chris during his years as the principal of CRLS on the renovation of the high school. I was struck by his calm, knowledgeable and caring demeanor. All of the buildings on the campus today reflect his vision for the school. In many ways the high school campus is a living memorial to his passion for the students of Cambridge. He was a tremendous leader.” Read the full appreciation here >>

From pick up sites, grab & go meals, or meals served in the classroom, every child will have the opportunity & access to food made with love by their school nutrition staff!

CSV Tutoring & Mentoring Programs
Cambridge School Volunteers (CSV) offers one-to-one remote tutoring and mentoring for Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS) and High School Extension Program (HSEP) students. It's important for students to be able to commit to 1 hour at the same time each week for an academic semester.
Academic Tutoring: Meet one-to-one with a tutor once a week to receive support with one or more academic subjects and/or test preparation.
College and Career Mentoring: Meet one-to-one with a mentor once a week to receive support in planning for your post-secondary life. This can include career and college exploration, college admission essay help, scholarship application support, etc.
Freshmen Peer Mentoring: Freshmen students meet with a peer mentor every other week during the fall semester to assist their transition into high school. This is our first year running this program, so there is limited capacity for participants.
