Leveling Up Article: Feedback Needed

Hello CRLS Families,

I am managing editor of CRLS' student newspaper, The Register Forum. I am co-writing an article about the Leveling Up initiative in 9th grade ELA, 9th grade World History, and 10th grade ELA classes. I am seeking parent perspectives on the initiative. If you would be willing to talk to me about your child's experience sometime this week or over the weekend, please let me know. My email is [email protected] and my phone number is 617.899.2774. Thank you.

Friendly Reminder for Seniors

All seniors who applied to colleges this year, please update your Naviance account with your admission decisions. Please note where you were accepted, denied, and wait listed. This information is populated into the scattergrams in Naviance and assists future seniors with their college process. Please help future seniors by updating your decisions now.

In addition, it is important each senior list their final post-secondary plan in Naviance. If you are working please indicate working and list where you will be working, if going into the military indicate military and list branch, if attending college please set the attending college and if gap year indicate such and list your plan. It is vital we have an accurate post-secondary plan for each senior as CRLS sends a final transcript to each student's attending college and to programs/employers as requested.

This information must be completed before receiving your cap and gown for graduation.

If you need assistance entering your final post-secondary plan or updating the admission decision status please see Ms. Williams in the CCRC, room 1501 or your guidance counselor. Thank you

CRLS 2019 Participatory Budget
This year, students were asked to share their ideas on how to spend $10,000 to improve the school community. CRLS students submitted a total of 32 ideas. During the past few weeks, a group of student delegates and staff have reviewed each idea to:

  • ensure that it provides a school-wide benefit to which all students have access.
  • determine its feasibility. Will $10,000 cover all costs? Is there physical space at CRLS to carry out the idea?
  • ensure that it complies with the CRLS Student Handbook, Cambridge Public School policies and remains true to the CRLS mission.

After the group's review, eight ideas have been presented to students. Voting is now open and will continue through Wednesday, May 29th. Vote today >>
Please note: Voting is only open to students.

Detective Pikachu Finds Its Own Humor, But Not Relevance
“While it’s not a great story, Detective Pikachu is 100%funnier than it has any right to be. The balancing between serious and humorous is riding the fine line with two hours of rightly immature jokes while having just enough plot and development to still technically be a detective story.” Read more >>
