Amigos
  12 de abril de 2019 / April 12, 2019
Sarah

Estimadas familias,

Atentamente,

Sarah Bartels-Marrero
Directora

Dear Families,

We had a busy week here at Amigos! Students in grades 4-8 successfully took the English Language Arts MCAS exam. Both students and faculty worked hard to make the experience as positive as possible and now everyone deserves a good rest. We will continue with the language arts MCAS for 3rd grade, math for 3rd to 8th and science for 5th and 8th after the April break.

We are sending out our March/April newsletter for middle school today. We invite you all to read it so you have an idea of what happens in the upper grades. Believe me - time flies and your student will be there before you know it! View the Middle School Newsletter >>

Today, some middle school students observed the National Day of Silence. The Day of Silence is an annual event dedicated to spreading knowledge about the bullying and harassment of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. The student led GSA offered stickers to those students who voluntarily wanted to show their support and solidarity toward the LGTBQ+ community and to show that Amigos as a safe and inclusive place for all genders.

I am pleased to announce that we have a date for eighth grade graduation this year! Our 8th graders will graduate on Wednesday, June 12th at 3PM. This means that we will have an early dismissal day for grades JK-7 on June 12 and another early dismissal day on the last day of school, June 18th.

Finally, I encourage you to participate in the family engagement survey. The last day to participate is May 10!

Have a wonderful April vacation week!

Yours sincerely,

Sarah Bartels-Marrero
Principal
