CRLS Scholarship Workshops
CRLS community-based partners and Ms. Davis are excited to announce that we are hosting our Scholarship Workshop for the third year. The goal of this program is to increase access to free money for post secondary opportunities by helping seniors apply for scholarships in the CRLS portal.
Every Thursday from January 10th to February 14th, volunteers from Enroot, Breakthrough, UAspire, Workforce, Office of Youth Employment, and Cambridge School Volunteers will help with navigating the portal and essay writing. We will be in the main cafe from 2:30 to 4PM.
CRLS 2nd Semester Curriculum Night

2019 Glocal Challenge Winners Announced
There was 60 students that participated in this year's challenge, working on nine different teams to come up with ideas to help communicate the impacts of climate change. Four finalists were selected this Tuesday morning at the Semi-Finals event. Then, Wednesday evening at the beautiful EF headquarters, all nine participating teams pitched their ideas to the public and a fifth finalist was selected by popular vote. The Neighborhood Service Project
A fourteen week, paid community-based service-learning program that introduces young people age 14 and 15 to the world of work by engaging them in the development of a project that impacts their neighborhood.
The program runs from February through May. Applications are available online here. Students can also stop by the Youth Employment Center (CRLS Room 2101) any day during lunch for more info. The deadline to apply is Friday, February 1st.

The Commission on Immigrant Rights & Citizenship (CIRC), a City department, addresses the needs of Cambridge’s immigrant community in identifying, accessing and obtaining City and local resources, including legal services. Reach out to CIRC through our website. CIRC, in collaboration with CLSACC, offers a free monthly immigration legal screening clinic on the third Wednesdays of every month, from 5:15 – 7:15PM at CLSACC’s office, located at 47 Thorndike Street in East Cambridge.

Subject-based Tutoring Services
Before-school Tutoring (7 - 8AM)
We are sharing space with Work Force. Our before-school tutoring will be located in room 2403 (in the middle of the hallway on the second floor).
After-school Tutoring (2:45 - 3:45PM)
After-school tutoring will be located in the College/Career Resource Center, room 1501.
Drop-In Math Tutoring
Monday - Friday | 7:30 - 8AM

College/Career Mentoring Services (2:30PM)
SAT Prep and College/Career Mentoring will be held in the CRLS Library's Inquiry Lab (formerly known as the fiction room).
SAT Prep
SAT Prep's Session I is from 2:30 to 4:30PM on Tuesdays at the CRLS Library, Inquiry Lab. Please encourage seniors to attend- all grade levels are welcome.
College/Career Mentoring
College/career mentoring is from 2:30 to 4:30PM on Wednesdays. In support of guidance, we help seniors with personal statements/scholarship essays, and post secondary education searches and applications. We reserved the inquiry lab to 3:30PM. However, mentors will continue to work with them in the library up to 4:30PM. The kickoff date is Oct. 3rd.

Jenny Smith is now available at the Career and College Center (CCRC) on Tuesday - Friday from 9AM - 3:30PM. uAspire works to ensure that all young people have the financial information and resources necessary to find an affordable path to – and through – a post secondary education. uAspire partners with high schools, community organizations, and colleges to provide college affordability advice to more than 10,000 young people and their families every year. Through our work, college-ready students have the support and knowledge they need to overcome financial barriers and succeed in college.
