CRLS Connects Summer 2018 Chromebook Distribution
CRLS Connects is a comprehensive program at CRLS that aims to provide support and access to technology resources for all students and teachers. In SY16-17 all CRLS teachers were provided a laptop/tablet computer that allows for more flexible, efficient and innovative teaching and collaboration. In SY17-18 all CRLS 9th grade students received a school-issued Chromebook laptop to support their academic work both in and out of school. In addition, twenty-one teachers, who primarily support students in grades 10-12, received a class set of Chromebook laptops allowing daily access to digital resources in support of instruction.
This August, all rising 9th grade, rising 11th grade, and rising 12th grade CRLS students will receive a school-issued Chromebook laptop, effectively providing comprehensive access to technology resources and to support academic success.
The Chromebooks are on loan to students and remain the property of CPS. Students will have access to the Chromebook 24/7 during their enrollment at CRLS.

Super Seniors 2018
Each year, Cambridge Rindge & Latin School graduates nearly four hundred ambitious, beautiful, interesting, funny, dedicated, special, and spirited young people into the real world.
On average, 92 percent of each graduating class heads off to a two or four-year college, university, or technical school.
Every new graduate has a story to share. Here are a few, some of which were chosen on the merits of their academic standing and some of which were chosen by the school for the way in which they embody the school motto of Opportunity, Diversity, and Respect. CPS Website User Family Survey
CPS is starting a rebranding project this summer and needs your help! The CPS district and school websites will be redesigned and we need your feedback.
We want to make sure the websites meet your expectations and more. By filling out the following short survey, we will be able to understand the experience families have when visiting CPS websites and how it can be improved. We also will examine communication efforts collectively at CPS. Thank you in advance for your participation. Take the Survey >>
Got feedback?
We can't wait to hear from you! CPS is conducting our first annual Family Survey, and we hope to hear from you by June 14th!
If you haven't already received an email or text message, or it's gotten lost in your inbox, check out our Family Survey page and click on your family's school(s). You can also find questions & answers about the survey, view our outreach plan, and even make comments on ways to improve our outreach strategy.
For those who don't have a good way to take it from home, watch for survey-taking stations at events at school. We value your feedback and hope to learn and improve based on what we hear from you.
The survey is part of our continuous improvement efforts, a key component of our CPS District Plan.

Not enough hours in the day?
Time and Learning Meeting at CRLS on June 14th at 6PM in the CCRC.
As part of our ongoing efforts to learn and improve as a school district, Cambridge Public Schools has identified a frequently-cited obstacle: time.
Please join with us in discussing the recommendations of a joint report from the Cambridge Education Association and CPS Administration, which proposes extending the length of the school day.
Beginning with these school-based conversations, and continuing with a broad community process in Fall 2018, the Superintendent will develop recommendations for any potential changes by Winter 2018-19.
Learn more about this process on the CPS website. Upcoming discussions are listed below, many of which have been scheduled for a regular meeting of School Councils. There will be more opportunities to contribute your thoughts and ideas over the coming months. Or, feel free to email us.

Helpful Summer Camp & Gap Resources
Chances are that your families are starting to inquire about enriching summer or gap experiences for students. I want to make sure you are aware that TeenLife.com is an excellent, free resource for these types of experiences. We list more than 7000 programs! Two weeks at a pre-college summer program on a college campus may be all a student needs to open their eyes to what's possible.
To search for a program, simply type a special interest in the search bar of our home page, leave the location blank, and click on "Go". Then choose a filter to narrow down the search to Summer or Gap Programs. The more specific the search term, the better, for example Civil Engineering rather than Engineering or Sculpture rather than Art. If the number of listings is too large, conduct the search again with the name of a State in the location field.
