Turkey Trot
As the calendar turns to November and the weather begins to cool the families and students of the FMA know that another running of the Turkey Trot is upon us. This year the weather reports were promising and the course was set at Izzy’s park for an exciting day of racing. FMA Visits the Harvard Museum of Natural History
On Tuesday, November 4th the fourth graders at the FMA spent their day at The Museum of Natural History. They started their morning learning about how our earth has changed over time. We saw fossils, a live horseshoe crab and looked at a timeline of the different eras. Read more >>

Autism at FMA (& Google and CBS)
Last week, our very own Ryan was profiled on CBS in a piece about software created by a local software developer for the Google Glass platform. Google Glass is basically a pair of glasses (see above) with a small screen and computer connected to it (the little blue thing). Learn more >>
Special Hours at the Children’s Museum
The Children’s Museum offers special dates/times for children with special needs to visit the Museum at times when the Museum is not crowded. The next dates are:
Friday, December 26 | 8 - 10AM
Monday, January 19 | 8 - 10AM
Registration is required as they only allow 100 families to attend at a time. The cost for non-members is $7 p/p. There is also an easy-to-read book about autism available from the Cambridge Public Library called: Understanding Autism for Dummies by Steven Shore and Linda Rastelli.
The title is from the book series called “_____________” for Dummies. It is not intended as an insult.
