Estimadas familias,
Sinceramente,
Sarah Bartels-Marrero

Dear Families,
This week we held two community meetings to discuss the upcoming playground renovation.
Initial plans from the playground architect where shared, feedback was taken and the timeline was discussed. It is exciting to see the vision that is being pulled together for our school. A great proposed feature is a custom fence in front that incorporates “Parkour” elements for a variety of age and ability groups. The design also includes an updated basketball court, rubber surfacing instead of wood chips, and an open space for student initiated games. Our famous “spider web” will be incorporated into the new design. The timeline is fluid, however, we hope to have the project out to bid by this spring. It will take awhile to complete and recess for next year should look interesting, but I believe it will be worth it in the end. Student and parent feedback so far has been positive.
I would like to ask families to provide Ms. Sheila with any updated or new contact information. We are in the process of checking to make sure all emails and phone numbers are accurate. If you have moved or changed numbers etc., please take a moment to provide her with this important information.
Thank you, and have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Sarah Bartels-Marrero
