Dear Families,
I hope you enjoyed the snow and the extra day at home. We have been lucky so far this year with the snow, and I hope we continue to have a light winter. However, if we get more snow, please be reminded that updates about school closing can be found at on the main CPS website. One result of the storm is that movie night tonight is canceled. We hope to reschedule for sometime in March.
I also want to take a moment and thank the Friends of Amigos (FOA) for organizing such a wonderful Multicultural Night. It was a wonderful event that highlighted the diverse families and cultures we have here at Amigos. As a reminder, FOA is a parent run organization that supports the vision and mission of the Amigos School. It is an organization open to all parents and families and I encourage you to learn more about them and how you can support their work.

Estimadas Familias,
Espero que hayan disfrutado de la nieve y el día adicional en casa. Hasta ahora hemos tenido suerte este año con poca nieve y espero que el invierno continúe siendo liviano. Sin embargo, si recibimos más nieve, por favor recuerden que las actualizaciones sobre el cierre de la escuela se pueden encontrar en el sitio web de CPS. Lamentablemente y como resultado de la nevada nos vemos obligados a cancelar “Movie Night” previamente programada en las escuela para esta noche. Esperamos volver a programarla de nuevo en marzo.
También quisiera tomar un momento para dar las gracias a “los Amigos de Amigos” (FOA) por haber organizado una maravillosa noche multicultural. Fue un evento especial que destacó las diversas familias y culturas que tenemos aquí en Amigos. Como recordatorio, “Amigos de Amigos” es una organización de padres que apoya la visión y la misión de la Escuela Amigos. Es una organización abierta a todos los padres y familias y les animo a aprender más sobre ellos y cómo pueden apoyar su gran trabajo.

With Valentine's Day around the corner, please be reminded that according to the CPS Wellness Policy, candy should not be handed out, shared or eaten in school. Please do not send candy to school with your child. Friendship cards are at the teacher's discretion.
