GARDEN UPDATE
Hello all!
I want to wish everyone a rejuvenating winter break!
With the help of all of your students, the garden is asleep for the winter. We pulled up most of the plants, filled up our compost with leaves, covered the perennials with hay to protect them, and planted garlic and winter rye seeds.
The garden is still an exciting place to explore with your classes in the winter: the compost is full and busy with decomposition, the perennials can still be sketched, and the hay and hoop house offer new places to examine in the garden. Feel free to use any tools in the shed you may need.
I will be off for two months, returning after February vacation week. Thank you for the wonderful work you do to build this amazing community.
Looking forward to the spring...
Michele

Update from our Literacy Interventionists
Children are extending their own learning by attending to what makes sense, what looks right, what sounds right and deciding whether we can say it that way. We help them by building on their strengths to make it easy for them to gain new information and understanding. As you listen to your child read, have conversations with them about their books and encourage them to write, together we will build confident capable readers and writers.
