Scholarship & Award Night 2016
FoCRLS presented $33,100 in scholarships and awards to 24 members of the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School Class of 2016 at Scholarship and Award Night, Thursday, May 19.
Scholarship and Award Night began with a "first" at CRLS -- a pre-ceremony reception hosted by FoCRLS. Sponsors, recipients, and honored guests, including Cambridge Mayor Denise Simmons, gathered in CRLS's Kimbrough Way to get acquainted, enjoy refreshments prepared by Rindge School of Technical Arts (RSTA) culinary students, to the groove of the CRLS World Jazz Ensemble, directed by Guillermo Nojechowicz. Mayor Simmons, CRLS Principal Damon Smith, FoCRLS Executive Director Elaine Schear, and 2013 First Scholar Awardee Yvonne Appiah (pictured) each addressed the crowd. Decorations and flowers were contributed by Coady Florist and Brattle Square Florist.
Whole Foods Stores Donate $17,840 to Friends of Cambridge Rindge and Latin School
May 26th and June 2nd were big days for a donation advancing resources and well-being for the “whole teen” at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School.
The “big check” presentation to the non-profit association Friends of CRLS (FoCRLS) at Cambridge’s Fresh Pond Whole Foods store, and later outside of CRLS, were the result of a “5% Day”, one of several community giving programs engineered by Whole Foods Markets.

CRLS Fall Athletics Information
Participation in high school athletics is a great experience. Students who get the opportunity to play on a team and compete interscholastically typically perform better in school, have the opportunity to build life-long friendships, learn valuable life lessons and ultimately more often achieve success in their career path. By deciding to pursue athletics and committing yourself to a team, you will not only be giving a lot to your community and teammates, but greatly benefiting in return! Microsoft TEALS Program
We have a wonderful opportunity for you to get involved with our program by teaming up with TEALS as a classroom teacher. TEALS is a grassroots program that recruits, mentors and places passionate high tech professionals into high school classes as part-time teachers. The professional brings his or her subject knowledge and will join one of our CRLS classroom teachers in a team-teaching model. TEALS provides training for both parties as well as course outlines based on successful college courses. Learn more >>
