Estimadas familias,

¡Feliz Año Nuevo! Espero hayan tenido unas vacaciones maravillosas y tengan mucha ilusión por el este gran año 2016. Tanto la facultad como yo hemos disfrutado de nuestras vacaciones y hemos regresado llenos de energías renovadas.

Quisiera señalar que los estudiantes del octavo están trabajando duro por recaudar dinero para su viaje a la ciudad de Nueva York. Este año esperamos ver el musical de Broadway “On your Feet” que celebra la vida y la música de Gloria y Emilio Estefan. Sería la primera vez que nuestros estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de ver un espectáculo en Broadway, lo que es muy emocionante. Los estudiantes del octavo y sus familias tendrán una venta artesanal en el Mercado del Festival de invierno este próximo sábado. Luego, habrá una venta tipo “Mercado de pulgas” aquí en el gimnasio el sábado 23 de enero entre 10:00 am y 2:00 pm. También han negociado con los propietarios de la compañía DLS Professional Cleaning. Ella espera donar un porcentaje de sus ganancias hechas por limpieza a familias de Amigos hacia el viaje del octavo. ¡En este acuerdo todos ganan!

¡Seguimos trabajando con los protocolos de seguridad del edificio y quisiera agradecerles a todos por su apoyo en esta área! Continuaremos usando la entrada principal para entrar y salir del edificio. Sin embargo, la entrada accesible, localizada en la parte de atrás del edificio, está disponible para aquellos individuos que la necesiten. Aun así, les pido por favor no usar esa entrada durante la hora de salida entre las 2:55PM y las 3:10PM. El protocolo de entrada por la parte de atrás es igual que el de la entrada principal - necesitará indicar su nombre, apellido y razón por su visita. Las puertas laterales solo serán usadas como salidas de emergencia y todo estudiante se despachará del edificio por la puerta principal. Además, quiero recordarle a las familias que deben completar formularios “CORI” antes de participar en cualquier paseo escolar o como voluntario en la escuela.

Dear Families,

Happy New Year! I hope that all of you had a wonderful winter vacation and are looking forward to a great 2016. I know that the staff and I enjoyed our break and came back with renewed energy.

I want to point out that the 8th grade students are working hard to raise money for their trip to New York City. This year we are hoping to see On Your Feet, the Broadway musical celebrating the life and music of Gloria and Emilio Estefan. This would be the first time our students get to see a Broadway show, so it is very exciting. The 8th graders and their families are selling crafts at the Winter Farmers Market this Saturday. Then, they will be running a “Rummage Sale” here in the gym on Saturday, January 23 from 10-2. They have also worked out a deal with the owner of DLS Professional Cleaning. She is hoping to give a percentage of any profits made on cleaning for Amigos families towards the trip. That sounds like a win-win situation to me!

We are still working on our security protocols in the building and I want to thank you for all your support in this area! We are going to continue to only use the main entrance for both entry to the building and exit. However, I do want to point out that our accessible entrance is actually in the back lot. This, of course, is available to individuals who need it. However, I ask that you try not to come in that way during dismissal, which takes place between 2:55PM and 3:10PM. The protocol for entry through the back door will be the same as in the front - you will need to provide both first and last name and the nature of your visit. The side doors will only be used as emergency exits and we will continue to dismiss all students via the main entrance as well. I also want to remind all parents that they must fill out CORI forms before chaperoning field trips or volunteering in the school.
