Welcome from Ms. Ford

Would You Like to Be a Room Parent?
There are lots of ways to get connected at the Peabody School! Some caregivers prefer to focus on classroom-specific activities. This school year we are seeking 1-2 room parents for your child's classroom, as well as helpers for the specialty teachers. Would you like to help?
Room parents are caregivers who:
–Reach out to fellow caregivers to help meet the teacher’s classroom needs: recruit field-trip chaperones, encourage participation in potluck–type activities, fulfill supply needs. In lower grades, especially kindergarten, room parents may help organize classroom activities.
–Recruit help for our school-wide Teacher Appreciation Day (Springtime)
–In some cases, organize out-of-school socials to create a deeper sense of community among members of the classroom and grade.
–Create a more enriching experience for the child and less work for the teacher. It’s a win-win!
Room parents will conduct varying forms of outreach: email, phone, face-to-face. Commitment is for the entire school year. Room parents will check in with teachers and the classroom’s other room parents (if applicable) a minimum of once per month. Level of participation/time commitment varies by classroom and tends to be highest in the lower grades. Please contact Mrs. Sullivan if you are interested!
