Welcome Back!
Dear Peabody Families:

I hope that you a wonderful summer, the perfect mix of rest, relaxation, fun and enjoyment. As we begin this school year, I am excited about our many accomplishments and those to come. Your commitment to your child’s education past and present are great examples of what is necessary for our community to achieve success. One of the goals of this school year is to help build and support an even stronger partnership with our families by relying on you. We know you are our most important partners to ensure the best education for every student!

As Principal, I am thrilled to be a part of a school community where family members are visible and actively engaged. Our staff has exemplary demonstrated rigor, care, and resiliency. I am honored and privileged to lead in a dynamic community where teachers and staff create an environment where students achieve and believe in themselves and their school. As I mentioned, your input, feedback, and support will be critical to my leadership, the teaching and learning environment and above all to the success of your child in our school. Together let’s honor that goal!

As always, I am especially excited to welcome our new families to our school. Please join me as we expand our community and warmly welcoming these individuals. With our school’s goal of having a greater emphasis on improving academic outcomes and high student achievement school-wide, we will continue to challenge our students, expect their best work and encourage, nurture and support them every step of the way. There are several ways you, as parents, family members, and caregivers can support your children.

  • Celebrate your child’s success (giving verbal praise), no matter how small it may seem. This will keep your child enthusiastic about learning and proud of their work.
  • Make sure your child gets enough sleep each night.
  • Establish a routine for studying. Give your child a quiet corner to read and regular time to do homework.
  • Send your child to school every day on time.
  • Keep in touch with your child’s teacher via e-mail, telephone, notes, or letters.
  • Attend school-wide events, classroom events, and conferences.

We will continue to embrace our school’s social contract:

To achieve success,
We do our personal best,
We respect others and ourselves,
We take responsibility for our choices and actions,
We cooperate to maintain environment,
We celebrate our rich diversity.

Remember we all have the same goal. To give your child the best education; academically, socially and emotionally. Please know that I always welcome your participation, support, and efforts. They are greatly valued and appreciated. We are in this together!

Please join us at our ”Welcome back and to Peabody” Potluck Picnic In The Park. Wednesday, September 2nd from 6PM until 7PM. Please bring a dish to share and meet and greet new and old friends.

School starts for grades 1 – 5 on Tuesday, September 8th at 8:40AM. This is a full school day. Kindergartners and Junior Kindergartners will start on Thursday, September 10th at 8:40AM. This is also a full school day.

See you soon and enjoy the rest of this beautiful summer.

Warmly,

Jennifer Ford

Summer Reading...Did you reach the moon yet?
It's not too late to complete your summer reading challenge. Read 20 minutes per day to help reach the goal of half a million minutes of reading per grade level! If minutes = miles, we'll read to the moon and back this summer! Remember to keep track of your minutes and books on your summer reading log. Learn more >>
