Celebrating Women’s History Month
Patricia Era Bath (1942-2019)
Patricia Era Bath was an American ophthalmologist, inventor, humanitarian, and academic. She invented an improved device for laser cataract surgery. Her invention was called Laserphaco Probe, which she patented in 1986. She also became the first woman member of the Jules Stein Eye Institute, first woman to lead a post-graduate training program in ophthalmology, and first woman elected to the honorary staff of the UCLA Medical Center. Bath was the first African-American person to serve as a resident in ophthalmology at New York University. She was also the first African-American woman to serve on staff as a surgeon at the UCLA Medical Center. Bath was the first African-American woman doctor to receive a patent for a medical purpose. A holder of five patents,]she also founded the non-profit American Institute for the Prevention of Blindness in Washington. D.C.

Restorative justice is a practice of peacemaking and reconciliation that originates from indigenous communities. Whenever possible, when a student's behavior has caused harm to another student or staff member, we will utilize restorative conferences and or circles in order to support reflection, accountability, repair, and learning.

We’re back! Our spring clothing exchange is finally here. Please feel free to bring clean, washed and lightly used spring clothing for ages 4-11 years. There will be a standing rack available. Please take what your child needs from the standing rack.

Cambridge City Nature Art Challenge (CCNAC)
This Year, CCNAC will be hosting an art contest for children and youth for grades 1-8 are welcomed to join in the art contest. Please see the link for more details on how you can enter for a chance to win!

Parent/Teacher Conferences
April 11-12th
The focus of these meetings will be to provide you with an opportunity to engage in a meaningful discussion about your child’s social, emotional, and academic progress. You and your child’s teacher will also be able to discuss steps that can be taken at school and at home to help make sure that your child continues to make steady and positive growth. Your child’s teacher will follow up directly about scheduling your individual conference.
