Dear Amigos Families,
September 9th is right around the corner and our Amigos educators are ready to welcome our jaguars back to school!
As you know, we are not yet at a "typical" school year. Due to the rise in COVID-19 breakthrough cases and the newly developed Delta Variant some COVID protocols will remain in effect at our school.
DOs
- MASKS must be worn by everyone inside the building! Students and staff must wear masks!
- Breakfast and Lunch will be outside unless there is inclement weather
- Continue to physically distance when necessary
- Continue to stay home if we are not feeling well. PLEASE KEEP OUR JAGUARS HOME IF THEY ARE NOT FEELING WELL!
- Continue to wash AND/OR sanitize our hands frequently throughout the day.
DON'Ts
- Please do not congregate in front of the school as we need that space to make arrival and dismissal run smoothly.
- Please do not park in the bus lane on Upton Street during arrival or dismissal. This lane must remain open to allow busses to drop off or pick up students safely. If you are blocking the bus lane you may be towed (parking restrictions are also posted on Upton St.). Also, Upton Street is a 1-Way street during arrival and dismissal. Drivers must enter from Magazine Street.
- Please do not park or idle in the school parking lot at any time.
Arrival
Walkers: Please arrive at 8:40 AM
- Will enter the school grounds through the gate(s) that correspond to their grade level(s).
- JK/K & Grade 1 enter/exit through the Magazine St side door (#8)
- Gr. 2 - 4 enter/exit through the main entrance (#1)
- Gr. 5 - 8 enter/exit through the Garden side door (#2)
- NOTE: All walkers must enter the school grounds through the gates located on Upton St. No other entrances are accessible to students. Please do not walk through the back parking lot of the building.
Bus students
- Buses will pull up on Upton St.
- All students will exit the bus and enter the grounds through the Gate(s) that correspond to their grade(s)
- All bus students will maintain sufficient space between themselves
Dismissal
- Dismissal for walkers will be at the same location as arrival.
- Dismissal for bus students will be conducted by classroom teachers and paraprofessionals and will be called down over the loudspeaker. Students will be escorted out of the building through the SAME doors they entered in the morning.
Please remember that during these times, only students and staff are allowed on school grounds.
Electronics
The school does not allow the use of cell phones or any wireless telecommunication devices during the school day. If students bring cell phones or electronic devices to school, we require that all phones be turned off and kept in students’ lockers or backpacks during the day. If you need to contact your child during the school day, please call the main office at 617.349.6567.
Specials Classes
Most specials will take place in the specialists' classrooms! YAY!
- Art will be in 001
- Music will be in 017 (and maybe outside)
- P.E. will be in the gym or at Dana Park
- Library Media will be in the library
- Health will be in 213
- Drama will be in 002
- Computers will take place in grade level homerooms

¡El 9 de septiembre está a la vuelta de la esquina y nuestr@s educadores de Amigos están listos para dar la bienvenida a nuestros jaguares a la escuela!
Como ustedes saben, todavía no estamos en un año escolar "típico". Debido al aumento de los casos de ruptura de COVID-19 y la recién desarrollada variante Delta algunos protocolos de COVID permanecerán en efecto en nuestra escuela.
HACERES
- Todo el mundo debe llevar máscaras dentro del edificio. ¡L@s estudiantes y el personal deben llevar máscaras!
- El desayuno y el almuerzo serán al aire libre a menos que haya mal tiempo
- Seguir distanciándonos físicamente cuando sea necesario
- Continuar quedándonos en casa si no nos sentimos bien. ¡POR FAVOR MANTENGAN A NUESTROS JAGUARES EN CASA SI NO SE SIENTEN BIEN!
- Continuar lavando Y/O desinfectando nuestras manos frecuentemente durante el día.
No hacer
- Por favor no se congreguen frente a la escuela ya que necesitamos ese espacio para que la llegada y la salida se desarrollen sin problemas.
- Por favor, no se estacione en el carril del autobús en la calle Upton durante la llegada o la salida. Este carril debe permanecer abierto para permitir que los autobuses dejan o recogen a l@s estudiantes con seguridad. Si usted bloquea el carril del autobús puede ser remolcado (las restricciones de estacionamiento también están publicadas en la calle Upton). Además, Upton Street es una calle de un solo sentido durante la llegada y la salida. Los vehículos deben entrar por Magazine Street.
- Por favor, no estacione ni espere en el estacionamiento de la escuela en ningún momento.
Llegada
Caminantes: Por favor llegue a las 8:40 AM

Estudiantes de autobús
- Los autobuses se detendrán en la calle Upton.
- Tod@s l@s estudiantes saldrán del autobús y entrarán en el recinto por la(s) puerta(s) que corresponde(n) a su(s) grado(s)
- Tod@s l@s estudiantes del autobús mantendrán suficiente espacio entre ellos
Salida
- La salida de l@s alumn@s a pie será en el mismo lugar de llegada.
- La salida de l@s alumnos del autobús será dirigida por l@s profesores y asistentes y se llamará por altavoz. L@s estudiantes serán acompañados fuera del edificio por las MISMAS puertas por las que entraron en la mañana.
Favor de recordar que durante estos tiempos, sólo l@s estudiantes y el personal están permitidos en los terrenos de la escuela.
Electrónica
La escuela no permite el uso de teléfonos celulares o cualquier dispositivo de telecomunicación inalámbrica durante el día escolar. Si l@s estudiantes traen teléfonos celulares o dispositivos electrónicos a la escuela, requerimos que todos los teléfonos estén apagados y guardados en los casilleros o mochilas durante el día. Si necesita ponerse en contacto con su hij@ durante el día escolar, por favor llame a la oficina principal al 617.349.6567.
Clases especiales
La mayoría de las clases especiales tendrán lugar en las aulas de los especialistas. ¡Yay!
- Arte tomará lugar en 001
- Música tomará lugar en 017 (y tal vez fuera)
- Educación Física tomará lugar en el gimnasio o en Dana Park
- Library Media estará en la biblioteca
- Salud tomará lugar en el 213
- Drama tomará lugar en el 002
- La clase de computadoras tomarán lugar en los salones de clase

Watermelon & Cheese Kababs! Place watermelon and cheese cubes on a kebab or chopstick. Tip: Try with honeydew melon or cantaloupe if you can't get watermelon.
