Dear Families,
Next Wednesday is our Amigos School Council Meeting from 6-8PM. Among other topics, we will be discussing our 2021-2022 Budget Process and identifying priority areas for our community.
We will also be holding a meeting on Tuesday, February 23 from 7-8PM for families of students who will be returning to in-person schooling on March 1. At this meeting we will discuss important school-wide safety protocols that all students and families must follow.
For current in-person students/families, please do not send your child to school next week with Valentine’s Day candy or gifts. Per our safety guidelines, items coming from home can not be distributed or exchanged. We thank you for your continued support of our ongoing safety protocols. Teachers looking to celebrate will look for alternative ways to mark this day of friendship.
From Our Student Reporter
This week we are going to be asking people some questions about the school and for the teachers, we are going to do a game of true or false. The two teachers we are going to interview are Ms.Lewis, and Ms. Litten!
First we are going to interview Ms. Lewis, a teacher from third grade.
True or False: The Amigos School was established in 2001?
Ms. Lewis responds, “False.” Amigos was founded in 1986.
True or False: The school has 60 teachers? “False because they added a lot of new people in the school.” Which is right, now there are 76 to be precise!
True or False: Fish cannot blink.
Ms.Lewis says, “True.” She got it right, fish don’t have eyelids, so they can’t blink!
Next, we are going to interview Ms.Litten, our PE and Health Teacher.
True or False: Amigos started as a spanish program? Ms.Litten says, “True.” Ms.Litten is right, she learned that from Ms.Collins. Hooray Ms.Collins!
The next question is, True or False: Seahorses don’t have stomachs and teeth?
Ms.Litten responds, “False.” That is incorrect. Sorry Ms. Litten! They don’t have stomachs or teeth.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Sarah Bartels-Marrero

Estimadas Familias,
Lewis dice: "Verdadero".
Litten responde: "Falso". Eso es incorrecto. Lo siento, Sra. Litten. No tienen estómago ni dientes.
¡Que tengan un buen fin de semana!
Atentamente,
Sarah Bartels-Marrero
