Dear Families

1. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff.
2. CPS has put in place significant safety and health protections, based on the advice of our scientific and medical advisors. We will NOT be opening schools with all students in school on Day
3. CPS is proposing a staged approach that provides time for planning and for students, families, and staff to become familiar with new safety routines.
4. Every family will have the option to choose whether they want their students to learn in a HYBRID or FULLY REMOTE model.
5. Our highest need learners (PreK- 1, students with disabilities, and English language learners) are prioritized for in-person learning.
6. The week of August 3, the School Committee will vote on the
7. Superintendent’s recommendation on a staged reopening school in a HYBRID or FULLY REMOTE model.
8. CPS is taking many steps to improve remote learning. Many community members are involved in the planning.
9. CPS will be hosting community meetings in the coming weeks to discuss the plans in greater detail.

Both a HYBRID AND FULLY REMOTE start will most likely have staged starts and I have included samples of how this COULD look below. Please understand that none of this is confirmed until the school committee votes next week and anything could change, however, I wanted you to know and have access to public information with regards to where the district is in the decision making process. I know that time is not on our side here and that everyone is feeling the stress and frustration of this many month’s long pandemic. Please know that everyone in CPS is working diligently to have a return to school that is equitable and safe. Throughout the day today and over the next few days, we will be calling you to see which of the possible options would be preferable to your family. 1. Nuestra prioridad es la seguridad y el bienestar de nuestros estudiantes, familias y personal.
2. CPS ha puesto en marcha importantes protecciones de seguridad y salud, basadas en el consejo de nuestros asesores científicos y médicos.
